Welcome to Year 2!

In Year 2 at Dean Bank, our teacher is Mr Haynes and our teaching Assistant in Mr Hegarty. In school, we always try our best and are resilient when faced with challenges. We celebrate our achievements through the use of dojos and every week we enjoy celebration assembly to celebrate our, and the rest of school’s, achievements. To share information about what we have been up to or things coming up, we use the school website, Facebook and Class Dojo.

In Year 2, we have lots of exciting learning opportunities. We are going to Durham Cathedral to explore its significance and how it has changed over the years. This school year, we are excited for our trip to Saltburn-by-the-Sea to look at how it has changed since Victorians went there on holiday! In R.E., we are going to learn more about Christianity including how light is a symbol of good. We are going to be getting creative and work with a variety of materials to make things like a Christmas puppet in D.T. and sculptures in art and design. Also, we will be studying coding in computing as well as developing our e-safety knoweldfe. There is so much to look forward to this year!
