Welcome to Class 3

Welcome to Year 3!

In Year 3 at Dean Bank, our teachers our Mr Haynes and Mr Murphy. We also have Miss Olayiwola working with our class this year. In school, we always try our best and are resilient when faced with challenges. We celebrate our achievements through the use of dojos and every week we enjoy celebration assembly to celebrate our, and the rest of school’s, achievements. To share information about what we have been up to or things coming up, we use the school website, Facebook and Class Dojo.

In Year 3, we have lots of exciting learning opportunities. We have already been on a trip to The Great North Museum to explore artefacts to help us understand the Stone Age. This school year, we are excited for our trip to Durham to investigate the River Wear and study different features of the river. We are also looking forward to going swimming in P.E. and learning all about water safety. In R.E., we are going to learn more about Christianity including visiting local churches to find out how they worship. We are going to be getting creative and work with a variety of materials to make things like a Christmas tree decoration in D.T. and sculptures in art and design. As part of music, we will be learning how to play the ukulele and develop our singing technique. Also, we will be studying coding in computing as well as developing our keyboard and typing skills. There is so much to look forward to this year!
