Class 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Mrs Hay is very excited to be our teacher this year, along with Mrs Collin supporting us with our learning. In school, we always try our best and show resilience when faced with challenges. We celebrate our achievements through Dojo points and enjoy our weekly celebration assembly, where we recognise the achievements of our class and the wider school community. We share updates about our learning and upcoming events through the school website, Facebook and Class Dojo.

This year, we are looking forward to lots of exciting learning opportunities. We have already visited The Great North Museum to explore artefacts and deepen our understanding of the Stone Age. Later in the year, we will visit Durham to investigate the River Wear and learn about the different features of a river. We are also excited for swimming lessons in PE, where we will develop our skills and learn about water safety.

In RE, we will explore Christianity further, including visiting local churches to find out more about how people worship. In DT and art, we will get creative by working with a range of materials to design and make items such as a Christmas tree decoration and sculptures. In music, we will learn to play the ukulele and develop our singing technique. We will also be studying coding in computing, alongside building our keyboard and typing skills.

We will always be full of busy in Year 3 but we will work together as a team to help us achieve the best we can! There is so much to look forward to this year!
