2020-2021
Team UP – April 2021 – July 2021
Our Y5 and Y4 class took part in the Team UP programme. This programme gives children the tools for life long well-being. It blends positive powers of physical activity and mental well-being techniques to support children to be ready to learn and success in life.
Heart Project SSP – April 2021 – July 2021
Over the course of the Summer term, children from each class were selected to participate in a Heart Project. Each of those children, took home a free bag of goodies and a booklet to complete activities each week. The bag contained cones, a quoit, skipping rope, small tennis racket, a ball and a bean bag.
Olympic games – June 2021
Our Y6 class were extremely lucky to be able to participate in the SSP Olympic games up at FBEC. To be covid friendly, our children moved around in smaller groups and were given pieces of equipment to take around with them. It was a great morning.
Archery CPD day – May 2021
For the whole day, our KS1 and KS2 classes enjoyed archery coaching sessions from a local group. To say the children enjoyed a different activity is an understatement.
Sports Cool Durham came in to visit – April 2021
TriGolf
A coach worked with Y2 to introduce the children to TriGolf. They all enjoyed it and several children showed some really good skills when trying to hit a target.
Ultimate Frisbee
The coach showed our children the technique of throwing a frisbee. Here you can see the Y6 children practising throwing the frisbee into a specific area to score points.
Y4 Football Challenge – Oct 2020
Y4 took part in some football skills challenges and then played 3-a-side games for one of Go Well’s autumn term challenges.
Well done to Y4 for your great effort!
Football Kit Delivery – Oct 2020
These are our new football kits, which Miss Potts has been waiting for a very long time!
We have a full set of football kits in a range of sizes, including the blue goalkeeper kit, ready for when we can start playing football matches again.
Hopefully it won’t be too long to wait. Thank you to Premier League Primary Stars for sending us the kits for free.
FA Shooting Stars Delivery – Oct 2020
Last week we received some great new resources from the FA Shooting Stars programme, which is a partnership between the FA and Disney to encourage more girls to become involved with football.
We have resources linked to Guardians of the Galaxy, Aladdin and The Incredibles 2!
Miss Forster did some training on this in the summer and is looking forward to starting an after school club soon.
Y1/2 Multi Skills – Oct 2020
Year 1 and 2 would usually go to a Go Well multi skills event this term but unfortunately that couldn’t happen this year. So the children didn’t miss out as we organised a multi skills event for them in school. Everyone had lots of fun!
